i just arrive in England (3+ weeks now) i amn in London/Parkside Merton working for British Telecom (maybe you work there too, i dont know, lol). now i am settled in i would like to visit Sundown. especially other Euro sceners living in london as we can travel together.

I'm new to London, just moved here months ago.
I've been part of the local demoscene in far, far away Argentina for a bunch of years, even being part of the organization team of Flashparty (latin america's onmly demoparty so far) in its last editions.

Now that I moved back to Europe I can finally experiment the real demoscene, where it all started I'm part of moods plateau since last year, even though I haven't done much with them yet. I'm a scumbag xD

Focus is on Amiga and C64, graphics and music... been doing them since 93-ish!

So there, that's all. Looking forward to Sundown 2012!

As of this morning, I had confirmation that the party will be going ahead so we're very early in planning - but don't be afraid to book flights or trains if you're wishing to come along. International visitors may want to also have a look at megabus.com and megatrain.com for connecting buses to Exeter - these new additions help massively cutting journey costs.

If you're willing to pay early, which helps massively the tickets are tiered as follows:

- £20 Subsidised Entry (limited to 10 tickets maximum) - for those in financial hardship or also for sceners with significant others who are coming along but not participating.

- £40 Standard Entry - Ensures you entry to the party place for the weekend.

- £60+ Supporters Entry - Pay as you like (starting from £60) and help support the party. We may also add some other benefits which will become more apparent going forward!

Note: There are loads of people (45 so far) signed up on Facebook, I'll augment that data with what's below soon.

What is it?
So called "pubmeets" are typical to the demoscene and are generally informal gatherings of sceners in a pub where we talk about plans, parties, collaborations, productions and visiting international parties. It's all things demoscene and anything else really.

It might be an idea to bring your laptop along if you want to show off some work, or just mess around online. There really is no formality with it.

When is it?
Sunday 4th December 2011 at 2pm.

Where is it?
Central Exeter - I expect you could either get a train to Exeter St. Davids Station or Exeter Central.

Who are the South West Sceners?
Most of them wouldn't identify themselves as such, but basically it's anyone from the South West of England (or anyone willing to travel to see us) who is interested in the demoscene, retro computing, computer arts, etc.

Initial thoughts...

- It'd be really nice to fill the event to capacity!
- Must be more ambitious than ever...
- It'll be in Budleigh again, after asking around there was a lot of resistance to relocation.
- We'll get the site and rules up early so to make sure we don't have any empty competitions.
- We'll definitely get the Belgian / Revision contingent to help out as they are wonderful.
- Two screen setup for info beam and production showing.
- Maybe we should theme the hall a bit more, dry ice, draped fabrics, lighting, more thematic.
- Maybe have the kitchen managed and cut price booze, maybe a keg setup, bbq etc.
- Much investment in the soundsystem to make sure the bassrack wobamas.
- Work more on sponsorship.
- IRCnet uplink.
- Smash the outreach!
- Work more with Bitfellas and Renoise if poss.
- Any other ideas?

Hi, I'm Jules, aka puppeh. I'm the founding member of the fake demogroup 'CRTC', who have released various things of various quality at various demoparties around the world (well, the UK & Germany, anyway). I live in Bristol.

I never had a 'cool' computer, but I used to send off for demos to Acorn PD libraries and run them on my old A3020, a scene which was never quite as active as the C64/Amiga ones (to say the least), but there were still some nice things to look at! I've been following things from the sidelines ever since I suppose, though I've only tried to make my own stuff in the last couple of years.

Introduction: I'm Ruairi, aka rc55 and I live in Exeter - you might know me as the organiser of the Sundown demo parties and my few forays into demoscene music. I mainly like tracking, but keenly follow retro-computing platforms like the ZX Spectrum. I also am a huge fan of the peak 90's DOS era, for both the games and the demoscene productions. I also like to experiment with audio/video compression, Linux, Windows Server and general web technologies (Wordpress, PHP, MySQL, CodeIgniter etc).
