Breakpoint 2009
April 10th to April 13th, 2009 (Easter weekend)
Bingen, Germany
Breakpoint is a demoparty held in Germany that usually has over 1000 visitors from all over Europe and
beyond. Breakpoint is considered to be the largest pure demoscene party and has some awesome facilities
like Full HD projection on an enormous screen (70 meters squared in 2008), live acts, beer garden, camp
fire and the
Scene.org Awards.
Getting to Breakpoint is currently very cost efficient as flights to Bingen are around
£50 return from Stansted via
RyanAir.
The flights that most people are aiming for are as follows:
Outbound: STN > HHN (London Stansted to Frankfurt-Hahn) 756
Depart: 11:05 STN Arrive 13:20 HHN Friday April 10 2009
Return: HHN > STN (Frankfurt-Hahn to London Stansted) 761
Depart: 18:10 HHN Arrive 18:30 STN Monday April 13 2009
In regards to extra costs, the tickets for entry will likely be
£60 (~£55 at
the moment), plus add an extra
£20 for bus fares from the airport to the party
place. Accomodation can be provided by a local B&B or hotel which starts at around
£25
per night. The Breakpoint site will provide the booking system for accomodation when their site is ready for
launch. Breakpoint has historically provided cheaper hostels, posher hotels - or if you are feeling brave you
can sleep on the floor in the party hall - it is noisy and busy all the time however, but a lot of people
opt for this anyway. If you do opt for a hotel
be quick as hotel places go very quickly.
The official Breakpoint 2009 site is not live, however when it is the information will be posted
here. More information on Breakpoint and the demoscene can
be found at Wikipedia
here and
